Visiting the website
This website is hosted by Netlify. To deliver pages, the host receives the network information your browser sends, such as your IP address, the requested address, request time and browser information, and may keep delivery and security records to run the service and investigate abuse. We have not enabled Netlify’s web analytics, form handling or script injection for this site.
The pages load their fonts, images and scripts from this site. They include no analytics service, advertising code, embedded donation widget, mailing-list form or optional tracking cookie. Other websites receive a request only when you follow a link to them.
Downloading DiskSnap
The DiskSnap installer is hosted on GitHub Releases, a service of GitHub, Inc. The Download button is a link to github.com. When you use it, your browser connects to GitHub and its content delivery network, which receive the information needed to deliver the file, such as your IP address, browser and device information and the time of the request, under GitHub’s privacy statement. You do not need a GitHub account to download. Beige Machine does not receive information identifying who downloaded DiskSnap; GitHub gives us only aggregate figures, such as download counts and visit totals. This website loads nothing from GitHub unless you follow one of those links.
Contacting Beige Machine
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. Gmail, provided by Google, handles that correspondence. We use it to answer your question, investigate an issue or handle your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card information or complete drive images, and check logs and screenshots for personal information before attaching them.
Why information is used
Our lawful basis for ordinary enquiries and website delivery is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us, providing downloads and keeping the service secure. We use only the information needed for those purposes. Where a legal obligation applies, information may also be kept or disclosed to meet it.
How long information is kept
We keep correspondence only for as long as it is needed to answer you, follow up an unresolved issue, keep a necessary support record or meet a legal obligation, and we do not add people who write to us to a mailing list. Netlify and GitHub keep their own service records for the periods set by their services and policies.
Service providers and transfers
Netlify hosts the website, GitHub hosts the DiskSnap download and Google handles email. Their infrastructure and service providers may process information outside the UK. See Netlify’s privacy statement, its data processing agreement, GitHub’s privacy statement and Google’s privacy policy for how they describe their safeguards.
Optional donations
The Buy Me a Coffee link opens a separate website. That service and its payment providers handle your payment under their own terms and privacy policy. Beige Machine does not receive your full card details. Information you choose to share with a donation, such as your name or message, may be visible to Beige Machine through that service. Donations do not unlock features or purchase guaranteed support.
DiskSnap on your computer
DiskSnap’s drive operations work locally. The app has no Beige Machine account, activation or upload service. Settings and diagnostic logs stay on your computer unless you choose to share them. Windows and Microsoft runtime crash reporting may operate according to your Windows settings and Microsoft’s terms.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of your personal information, object to processing, or request portability. Contact beigemachine@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. No automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects are made.
